Working with ValleRuan
EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES, TRANSFORMING FUTURES
People at the Heart of Our Production
Our olive groves are not just about producing exceptional oil, they are about creating opportunities, building futures, and supporting those who need it most. Finding a reliable workforce for seasonal farm labour, especially in Cornwall, can be a challenge. But rather than seeing this as an obstacle, we see it as an opportunity to empower individuals and strengthen our community.
We are committed to providing meaningful work for those who may struggle to find stable employment. This includes veterans looking for a new purpose, individuals experiencing homelessness, young people without clear prospects, and those who have faced educational or social barriers.
Our model is built on more than just offering jobs; it’s about providing a fresh start, a sense of purpose, and the chance to be part of something lasting. By working with us, individuals gain skills, confidence, and the stability needed to build their future.
At ValleRuan, our people are as important as our olives - because without them, there is no harvest, no oil, and no community.

Through our innovative programme, participants will harvest olives while also gaining access to:
-
Social and life skills training to rebuild confidence.
-
Wellbeing practices to support mental health and resilience.
-
Formal education in Maths, English, and agriculture.
-
Professional qualifications in agriculture and hospitality.
Our ultimate goal: to help each participant leave the programme with:
-
Financial stability, including savings for a rental property deposit.
-
Real qualifications that open doors to future careers.
-
Renewed purpose and the tools to thrive in society.

At ValleRuan, we’re not just cultivating olives.
We’re cultivating futures.
This is more than a job, it’s a transformative experience.
As we grow, we hope to offer some individuals permanent roles within our company. As of 2025, we aim to guide 20 people through this life-changing programme each year, empowering them to take the next steps in their journey.
This model not only helps people and communities but is also a sustainable, human-centered alternative to costly picking machinery in the early stages of our growth. After five years, we’ll reassess and refine this approach as we continue to expand.
